Product pricing: prepare a complete cost worksheet

1 min read

Put costs on the same basis

Record purchasing, packaging, fulfilment and applicable channel charges. Keep the currency, unit and date alongside each amount. Mark estimates clearly and check fees against your actual provider agreements.

Compare scenarios

Review the expected selling price with and without discounts. A simple product gross-margin calculation divides selling price minus product cost by selling price; it does not automatically include every business expense. Keep those additional expenses visible in your worksheet.

Review actual results

Compare assumptions with completed orders, refunds and actual charges. Update the worksheet when costs change. Choose a review owner and document approvals before changing prices across many listings.
