Reviewing AI-assisted product translations

2 min read

Prepare the source

Use concise sentences and one agreed name for each product feature. Keep model numbers, materials, measurements and included accessories explicit. Give the translator the product context and intended audience.

Review meaning before style

Compare the draft with the original, checking quantities, units, compatibility and exclusions. Ask a reviewer who knows the target language to check that the wording is natural and does not introduce new promises. Localization also involves local conventions beyond translated words.

Keep a review record

Save the approved terminology and corrections for the next batch. Check the published page on mobile as well as desktop. Measure results using your own comparable observations rather than assuming a fixed conversion improvement.

Review the localized page

Check product units, technical terms and important restrictions on the localized page before publication. Review right-to-left layouts separately from the translated text.
